A student may apply to the Maharashtra Council of Agricultural Education and Research (MCAER),Pune, for admission as a graduate, postgraduate, or doctoral student. Undergraduate (and B. Tech) programs are admitted based on the marks obtained in the last qualifying examination. A Common Entry Test (CET) will be administered by the Maharashtra Agricultural University Examination Board (MAUEB),Pune, for admission to the PG program. PG students are required to take the MTEC examination. Applicants are admitted to the Ph.D. program based on their qualifications.

Admission to the B. Tech program is based on the ratio obtained in the HSC in the required field. 15% of the all-out seats will be saved to be filled in from all Indian bases through the Common Entrance Examination. The PhD program is offered under a bunch of specialization subjects. The most extreme span period for the Ph.D. program is three years.

The joint passage test is led by the Board of Examinations of Maharashtra Agricultural Universities just like the passing PG degree. For M.Sc, students must have earned an MSc degree in the related field in which they wish to study at the PG level. M.Tech aspirants with B.Tech are eligible to apply.
