NEHU Admission 2026-27: North Hill Eastern University offers admission to a wide range of UG and PG courses for the academic year 2026-27. Application forms will be invited online on the official website @nehu.ac.in, and the deadline to submit the form will be 15 June 2026. The University has various popular courses some of them are BArch, MTech, MBA, MCA, MA, MSc, MSW, and PhD. NEHU Admission is done based on National, State, and University level entrance exam scores.

North-Eastern Hill University (NEHU) was established in 1973. The University has been approved by the University Grant Commission (UGC). NEHU Holds the 80th position in the NIRF Ranking.

NEHU Admission 2026-27

North Eastern Hill University UG and PG courses admission 2026 session going to commence soon. 15 June 2026* is the last date to submit the application form for North Eastern Hill University. The application process for NEHU Shillong is completely online. The process of admission is based on merit and entrance examination (CUET). Those students are intend to be admitted this year must have appeared in the entrance exam and need to clarify the examination as well as the eligibility criteria for the UG and PG courses, should be qualified from 10+2 with 50% marks, or have graduated in the relevant stream.

The University provides multiple programs, in UG Course BA, B.Sc, and BA LLB, it also provides some distance courses for certification and PG courses such as MA, M.Sc, M.Com, and so forth. Students can enter any discipline course on their interest.

NEHU UG Admission 2026-27

This year, the North Eastern Hill University UG Prograg offers nine courses, which are BA, B.Sc, BA LLB (Hons),B Com, BCA, BBA, BSW, and BTTM. NEHU UG Admission last date is 15 June 2026*, and the students can apply online through the official web portal. The University also provides the option of distance learning for Certificate, Diploma, and B.Ed (Special Education) courses.

For UG courses, the University is conducting entrance examination (CUET),as well as taking admissions on the merit-based. Candidates who have appeared for the CUET UG 2026 entrance examination can register for admission to the courses offered. Students may visit the official website @nehu.ac.in of the university to submit the application form. Students must have a 10+2 qualification with a 50 to 60% rank.

NEHU BTech Admission 2026

NEHU BTech Admission last date to apply is 15 June 2026. The duration of the BTech course is four years, and it has various specializations such as Aeronautical Engineering, Biotechnology, and Civil Engineering. The application form will be available on the university's official website. Students need to pass the entrance test for NEHU admission.

NEHU PG Admission 2026-27

North Eastern Hill University 2026 has announced that PG course admissions are going to start soon and the last date of registering for the courses is 15 June 2026. The University takes admission for the PG courses, based on entrance examination ranks. Students can go and check out the application process on the official website of the University@nehu.ac.in.

The NEHU offers various PG courses such as MA, MSc, M.Com, MCA, M.Ed., MTTM, LLM, and PGPD-SEDE. M.A. program is offered in the following specializations, for instance-Economics, Adult and continuing education, Sociology, History and Archeology, English, Political science, and so forth. Those students who are interested in continuing higher studies must have a bachelor's degree which supports in master's course.

NEHU MSC Admission 2026

NEHU Admission for Master level courses such as MSC shall commence for various courses in the science stream. Enrollment in the application form for the NEHU MSC PG two-year programs can be made online. The university is accepting online application forms for MSC Anthropology, Geography, Rural Development, Environmental Sciences, Geology, Forestry, Statistics, etc., until 15 June 2026. 

NEHU MSC admission is given to individuals based on their scores of bachelor’s degrees. The university will calculate the merit list on this behalf. The application fee for the NEHU MSC programs is INR 500. Other backward/special categories like SC/ST can deposit INR 250.

NEHU PhD Admission 2026-27

The University also offers PhD admission in the Department of Electronics & Communication. Candidates appearing for the Phd courses must fill out the application form before the last date. NEHU PhD Admission last date is 09 October 2026. Those students who are seeking admission to it need to appear for the entrance exam on 24 October 2026 which is conducted by the university.

Online applications are being accepted by NEHU. By mid-August, students can submit their applications online. Applications for traditional programmes cost INR 500. Reserved-category students may submit INR 250. Students seeking professional degrees must submit INR 800. For students from reserved categories, a deposit of INR 400 is allowed.

Students applying for NEHU Admission courses/programmes are requested to apply online on payment of  Rs.800/- and Rs.400/- (for SC/ST category) and the payment will be online using Debit Card/Credit Card/Net Banking through SBI  and HDFC Bank. NEHU Application Form fee is not refundable.

NEHU Admission 2026: Eligibility Criteria

Candidates who are willing to opt for admission to the courses offered by North Eastern Hill University must fulfill the basic eligibility criteria set by the university for different courses. For NEHU Admission to the UG programme, the candidate should have completed their 10+2 in a related field with a minimum aggregate of 50% marks from a recognized board.

For admission to the PG programme offered by the university, the candidate should have completed their Bachelor's Degree in a related field with a minimum aggregate of 50% marks from a UGC-approved university.

Students willing to opt for admission to M.Phil and Ph.D. must be required a master's degree in a relevant subject from a recognized university. For admission to any post-graduation program, the student must have a graduation degree from the recognized board/university.
