Patna University Admission 2026-27: The admission process at Patna University has been started for the 2026-27 academic year. Students who want to pursue any UG program must complete the application forms before the deadlineof 31 May 2026. Similarly, the last date for PG programs is 8 July 2026. The university grants admission to aspiring students based on their scores of qualifying examinations and, for some courses, their scores of the entrance exam conducted by the university.

The university offers various programs via the 8 faculties designed at the university. The university offers various UG, PG, PG Diploma, PhD, Diploma, UG Advance Diploma and certificate courses; some of these courses include BCom, BSc, Diploma in Public Relations, MBA, BCA, Post Graduate Diploma in Yogic Science, etc.

Situated in the state of Bihar, Patna University was established on 1 October 1917. The university has 10 constituent colleges and has designed over 30 departments in total. It is the first university to be established in Bihar and one of the 7 oldest universities in India. The university has been recognized by UGC and accrediteda B+ by NAAC. It has a computerized library that has access to over 4,00,000+ books, 87 periodicals, more than 5,000 rare manuscripts and many more. 

Patna University has introduced all the necessary changes to the curriculum framework for the implementation of the NEP 2020 Guidelines. It has extended the duration of the UG programs to 4 years and introduced credit-based systems to all the UG programs. Students enrolled at the university will also have to create their ABC ID on the Digilocker application.

For the academic year of 2026-27, the admission process has been initiated for various UG programs. The last date for registration is 31 May 2026. However, for the PG courses, the admission process will begin on 15 June 2026 and will go on till the last date of 8 July 2026. Students who wish to pursue their higher studies from any of the 30 departments at the university can access the application forms on the official website of the university - @pup.ac.in. The application fee set by the university is INR 1,100. Some of the programs offered by the university include BCA, MBA, MSW, Certificate in Applied Yoga, BA, MA, BBA, BCom, etc. 

Patna University UG Admission 2026-27

Several UG programs are offered by Patna University; the admission process for these programs has begun for the 2026-27 academic year. The last date for submitting the application form is 31 May 2026. Students who wish to pursue any UG program at the university must ensure that they have passed their 10+2 in a stream that aligns with the area of specialization in their bachelor’s program.

The university grants admissionto the UG programs mostly based on the applicant’s meritin their qualifying examination, except for the  LLB and BFA programs. Students who wish to pursue any of the mentioned 2 courses must appear in the entrance exam conducted by the university and scheduled on 15 June and 10 June 2026, respectively. Some of the UG courses that the candidates can pursue at the university are BA, BCom, BFA, LLB, BSc, BCA, BBA, etc. 

Patna University PG Admission 2026-27

The admission process for the PG courses at Patna University will start on 15 June 2026. The last date for completing and submitting the application forms will be 8 July 2026. Candidates who have completed their bachelor’s degree from a recognized university and have scored at least 45% (relevant degree with honours) or 55% (degree with allied subjects) are eligible to pursue any PG program at the university.

For all the regular PG courses (except MEd, LLM and Master of PM and IR),the candidates’ meritis considered. However, for all the self-financed PG courses, like MBA, MSW, MSc (Biotechnology),etc.,  the university conducts an entrance exam for admission. Some of the PG programs offered by Patna University are MBA, MSW, MA, MSc, LLM, etc.
