IGNOU Law Admission 2024-25: The Indira Gandhi National Open UniversityLLB course is not offered by the university in the January 2024-25 session. So, those students who wish to get admission in law courses through distance education can't take admission because, as per the Bar Council of India, three-year LLB, BBA LLB, BA LLB, and LLM courses won't be offered through distance or online mode. Students can apply for IGNOU Law programs such as Diplomas and Certificates (CCP, PGCCL, etc.). IGNOU Law Admission is not open for the academic session 2024-25, however, admission is ongoing for the other rest offered courses and students can apply for the admission form till 31 March 2024.

LLB courses through distance education are not considered, and the BCI does not recognize the law program if it is done through the medium of distance education. IGNOU LLB Courses
Schools of Law are responsible for introducing and offering IGNOU law courses to the students who want to learn in the distance and the regular mode. In distance mode, there are 4 categories: PG and Advanced Diploma, PG and Advanced Certificate, Diploma and Certificate. The doctoral degree course entitled Doctoral of Philosophy in Law (PhD) is offered to the students in regular mode.
Post Graduate and Advance Diploma: There are 2 courses offered under PG Diploma and Advanced Diploma. The program's minimum and maximum duration are 1 year and 3 years. It can be pursued by those who have accomplished their Graduate degree in any discipline. The course fee ranges from Rs.10,200/-. The available disciplines have been enlisted below:
- Post Graduate Diploma in Intellectual Property Rights: This course is of a minimum duration of 1 year. PGDIPR is the short form used to indicate this course. This course is specially designed for such employees who work in the IPR field. This course is designed for working people who are working and do not have certification for it.
- Post Graduate Diploma in Criminal Justice
Post Graduate and Certificate: In the law discipline, two courses are introduced by IGNOU University. The course duration is six months, which can be completed in a maximum of 2 years. Students who have completed graduation or are in the 5th/VIth year students of 5-Year Integrated Law can apply for this postgraduate certificate-level program. Apart from that, the full programme costs Rs.8,200/-. The two courses have been listed below:

Diploma: At the diploma level, there is only one law programme, namely, Diploma in Paralegal Practices (DIPP),which is a 1 to 3 years duration course. Those who have completed 10+2 can pursue this course from IGNOU. The fee for the entire program will be Rs.8,400/-
Certificate: There are 5 disciplines of law available at the certificate level. The minimum duration of the Law Certificate programmes is 6 months and the maximum is 2 years. By joining this course, one can gain basic knowledge about the importance of the law and judicial system. Eligibility criteria for certificate programs are the same as those for diploma courses. One must have completed Class XIIth education from any stream. Further, the fee depends on the specific discipline of the program. The list of IGNOU Law certificate courses is as follows:

Doctoral of Philosophy in Law (Ph.D.): This is the only degree program offered by the School of Law. This program enables the students to carry out research in the law-related field. Students with a Master's degree from a recognized board will be eligible to apply for this PhD program. The minimum duration of the course is 3 years, and the maximum is 6 years. Concerning eligibility criteria, the general category aspirants must have scored at least 55% marks, whereas it is 50% marks for the reserved categories. The admission is granted based on the entrance test undertaken by the IGNOU. Apart from that, the course fee will be Rs.16,800/-.
IGNOU Law Entrance Exam 2024
IGNOU does not conduct any entrance exams for admission to the ICNOU Law course 2024 offered by the institution. The process for all the law courses in IGNOU is purely based on the marks obtained by the applicants in the preliminary exams. The process for all the law courses in IGNOU is purely based on the scores of applicants in preliminary exams. However, IGNOU conducts entrance exams for various other courses like IGNOU MBA,IGNOU BEd, IGNOU PhD, etc.
In the law field, IGNOU only conducts an entrance exam for admission to the Doctor of Philosophy in Law (Ph.D.LE) course. The applicants for admission to the course are admitted after considering their scores in the entrance exam and the interview round conducted by the university.
