To gain admission to the UG level course, one must have completed an intermediate/12th standard qualification with an aggregate of 40% to 50% marks in any stream.

IGNOU BLIS Admission 2026 January Session

IGNOU also offers a BLIS course (Bachelor of Library and Information Science) for those students who are interested in learning how a library runs or understand library and information science, equipping them with the necessary skills and knowledge to advance in the field. There are 80+ postgraduate courses available, such as MSC, M.COM, MBA, MCA, M.A., and so forth, and the basic tuition fee is around INR 7,300/- to INR 62,000/- per year. The University gives flexibility to choose the subject in the preferred language, either Hindi or English. 

The university selects students for P.G. admission based on qualifying scores in earlier examination boards; students do not need to appear for any entrance test for admission. IGNOU MA Admission 2026-27

IGNOU provides M.A. courses (Master of Arts) in a wide range of specializations like Urban Studies, Journalism & Mass Communication, Environmental Studies, Education, and many more with a basic tuition fee between INR 7300 to INR 25,000/- per year. Only, those applicants can enter in it who have a graduation degree from an authorized institution. IGNOU MLIS Admission 2026-27

Students who have completed the B.LIS course with aggregate 50% marks and want to move further higher education in the field of Library education can pursue a Master of Library and Information Science course (MLib),without taking any regular classes by taking admission at IGNOU.
