TNAU Admission 2026-27: The admission process at TNAU has begun for the PG and Doctoral programs for the 2026-27 academic year. The last date for submitting the application forms is 6 June 2026. Students who want to pursue their higher education from any of the 73 programs offered by the university must ensure that they meet the specific eligibility criteria set by the university. In addition, candidates will also have to score good marks in a relevant entrance exam, like CUET UG 2026, to secure admission at the university. The university will be offering the UG programs only if the candidates appear and qualify in the entrance exam conducted by ICAR. Some of the courses offered by the university are B.Tech. (Bioinformatics),M.Sc. (Ag.) in Agricultural Extension Education, Ph.D. in Agricultural Economics, B.Sc. (Hons.) Sericulture, etc. 

The Tamil Nadu Agricultural University was established in 1868, which continued to be the only institute for agricultural studies in South India. Candidates who want to make a career in the agriculture field get a variety of options at this university, as it provides 14 UG, 33 PG, and 28 PhD programs covering all the aspects of agriculture. The university has 40 research stations, which serve as an important source for all the students enrolled in any PhD program at the university. 

Students should be aware that the university will be implementing NEP 2020 Guidelines from the academic year of 2026-27. According to the guidelines, the duration of UG programs at the university will be extended to 4 years. It is advised to the students to check the prospectus of the university and put special focus on the NEP guidelines before applying. The university will also be introducing the credit-based system in all of its UG programs. 

TNAU Admission 2026-27 latest updates

• TNAU Admission process for the 2026-27 session will tentatively open from 10 May 2026* for the various Courses such as BSc, BTech, MSc, and Mtech.
• TNAU Admission 2026-27 last date will be 10 June 2026*, and the applications will be submitted online through the official website.
• TNAU has opened its admission process for PG Masters courses and PG Doctoral courses for interested students participating in these programs. The last date to submit the application form is 6 June 2026. Source

TNAU Admission 2026-27

There are several agricultural programs offered at TNAU in multiple specializations. For the academic year of 2026-27, admission at the university is currently ongoing for the UG, PG, and PhD programs. The last date of registration is 6 June 2026. Interested students can apply to the university's official website - @tnau.ac.in. The admission process for the UG program also started with the commencement of CUET UG 2026.

Students who are based in Tamil Nadu will not have to appear in the entrance exams; they can directly appear in the counselling round at the university. The university has also set the application fees for various UG, PG, and Doctoral programs to INR 500-1000, depending on the category a student belongs to. BSc (Hons.) Sericulture, MSc (Community Science) in Food and Nutrition,  BTech (Energy and Environmental Engineering),etc.

TNAU UG Admission 2026-27

There are 14 UGprograms that the TNAU offers in the specializations of various courses like BSc and BTech. The admission process at TNAU for the 2026-27 academic session has begun with the ongoing CUET UG 2026. Students who have completed their 10+2 from a recognized board, with at least 55%, are eligible for admission to the UG programs at the university. CUET UG 2026 is going on from 15 May 2026 and will be taking place till 31 May 2026. Some of the UG courses that an eligible student can pursue are BTech (Energy and Environmental Engineering),BTech (Food Technology),BTech (Bioinformatics),BSc (Hons.) Sericulture, etc. 

TNAU PG Admission 2026-27

Numerous PG programs are offered in the agriculture field by TNAU. Admission to these programs is going on for the 2026-27 academic year. The last for registration is  6 June 2026. Students who have a relevant bachelor's degree can pursue any PG program as per their preference at the university. There are 32 PG programs that a student can pursue at the university. A few of those 35 PG programs include MSc (Agriculture) in Bioinformatics, MTech (Agricultural Engineering) in Processing and Food Engineering, MSc (Community Science) in Food and Nutrition, etc. Students who are interested in pursuing any PG programs must qualify in a relevant entrance exam scheduled on 23 June 2026 or appear in the counselling round, depending on their state of residence. 

TNAU PhD Admission 2026-27

PhD programs are offered at TNAU in multiple specializations of Agriculture. Admission to the university's PhD programs is currently ongoing for the academic session of 2026-27. The last date for submitting the application forms is 6 June 2026. Students can enroll in any of the 28 Doctoral programs offered at the university, which include PhD in Agricultural Extension Education, PhD in Plant Pathology, PhD in Nematology, etc. Students who have a relevant master's degree and have qualified in ICAR AICE-JRF/SRF are eligible for the Doctoral programs offered by the university. The university will have a credit-based system with a total of 100 credits; 75 of these credits will be entirely dedicated to the candidate's thesis.
