MG University Admission 2026-27: For the academic year of 2026-27, MG University has started the process of admission for various PG programs. Students who are choosing this university for completing their higher education must appear in the MGU CAT 2026, scheduled on 17 and 18 May 2026. Those who want to pursue any UG program can also start completing the application forms which have been released on 15 May 2026. The last date for registration will be 15 June 2026*. The university offers various UG, PG, PhD, and short-term programs in multiple technical and non-technical fields through the 30 departments created at the university. 

Based in Kottayam of Kerala, Mahatma Gandhi University was established on 2 October 1983. The university has been accredited by NAAC and has received a rank between 500-601 by the World University Ranking among various Indian institutions. There are over 260+ colleges that have received affiliation from MG University. It offers 300+ programs by creating 30 schools at the university. The university has 27 centers which comprise all the national, international, inter-university, inter-school, and other centers. 

Students must know that following the NEP 2020 Guidelines has become mandatory, hence, MG University will also be carrying out all the necessary changes to implement the guidelines. For the 2026-27 academic year, the university will be introducing a credit-based system for all the programs offered at the university. Moreover, enrolled students of the university will be required to make an ABC ID in the Digilocker application.

MG University Admission 2026-27

Admission at MG University is going on for the academic year of 2026-27. The last date to submit the application forms for the MBA program is 20 May 2026. Applicants who want to be admitted to the college can register themselves on the official website @mgu.ac.in.  For other PG programs, the candidates will have to appear in CAT-MGU 2026, which is taking place on 17 and 18 May 2026. The admission process for other UG programs also began on 15 May 2026 and the last date is 15 June 2026*. The application fee for the unreserved category students is INR 500, while for the reserved category, it is INR 250.

MG University Application Forms 2026-27

The application forms for various programs at MG University are released on its official website. Completing the forms is a lengthy process, which is the reason why most students need certain clarifications about the same. The steps of completing the application forms at MG University are as follows:

• Go to the official website of the university - @mgu.ac.in.
• At the very top of the page, students will be able to see the option of “admission”. Click on it.
• Select the relevant option, such as “BEd/MEd - CAP”.
• You will now be required to register yourself at the portal with your name and contact details.
• Create a password for logging into the admission portal of the university.
• Log into the application form portal with the same email ID and password you created earlier.
• You will be now redirected to another portal which will consist of all the sections of application forms.
• Start filling out the application forms for the university by entering your personal details, such as your residential address, mother and father’s names along with their occupation, your date of birth, etc.
• Provide your educational details including the board/university of your education, the city of the institution, marks you obtained in your previous qualification, your score of CAT/KMAT/CMAT (if applying for an MBA),etc.
• Upload the scanned copies of your documents like passport-size photograph, signature, 10+2 mark sheets, graduation certificate and mark sheet, migration certificate, etc.
• Pay the application fee of INR 250 or 500, depending on your category.
• Submit the application form and take a screenshot for future reference.

Documents required

Students who are applying for any program at MG University will have to upload a few documents in a particular format and size as mentioned in the guidelines on the application form page. The university asks the students to upload these documents for the purpose of keeping a record of the candidates’ relevant personal and previous educational details.

MG University UG Admission 2026-27

There are various UG programs offered at the MG University. For the academic year of 2026-27, the admission process for the UG programs began on 15 May 2026. The Last date for registration at the university is 15 June 2026*. Students who have completed their 10+2 from a recognized board become eligible to pursue any UG program at the university.

Students will be granted a seat in their desired program through CAP (Centralized Allotment Process). Students can pursue their UG-level programs in any field, some of the programs include BSc, BEd, BTech, BBA, BA, etc. These programs are provided by the 30 different schools of the university. Out of the numerous UG programs offered by the university, the program of BA has the highest number of specializations: 50 specializations.

MG University PG Admission 2026-27

Mahatma Gandhi University offers PG programs in multiple fields and specializations. The admission process for all the PG programs has been initiated by the university. The last date for registration of PG courses at the university was 8 May 2026. Some of the programs that the university offers in various fields include MTech, MA, MBA, MSc, MCA, MEd, etc.

Students who have a relevant bachelor’s degree can pursue any PG course at the university. The university conducts MGU-CAT for offering admission to deserving students, the exam is scheduled on 17 and 18 May 2026 and the admit card was released on 10 May 2026. Students who are seeking admission to the MBA program must complete the application forms before the last date of 20 May 2026. They will also have to qualify in CAT, KMAT, or CMAT.

MG University PhD Admission 2026-27

Several PhD programs are offered at the MG University. For the academic year of 2026-27, the admission process of PhD programs will start in November 2026*. The last date for registration will be 30 December 2026*. Candidates who have completed their master’s degree in a relevant discipline with at least 60% marks are eligible for the PhD programs at the university.

Students from any background can get admission at the university as the university provides the PhD programs in most fields, such as Computer Science, Special Education Intellectual and Developmental Disability, Statistics, Malayalam, Commerce, Biochemistry, etc. Interested candidates must qualify in a relevant entrance exam conducted for PhD; UGC NET, NET JRF, or the entrance test conducted by the MG University itself.
