Vellanikkara, Kerala Agriculture University (KAU),Kerala is a farmer university offering various agricultural, horticultural, and forestry programs. In 2011, the Kerala University of Fisheries and Ocean Studies (KUFOS) and Kerala Agricultural University were trifurcated to become the Veterinary and Food Sciences University (KVASU).

This offers Diploma courses, Bachelor of Arts, master of the field of agriculture, integrated and Doctoral programs. Only online applications are available from the university. Students are admitted to the university's undergraduate courses according to ranges obtained by the Commissioner of Entrant Examinations, Government of Kerala, in the Common Entrance Examination (CEE). BSc Co-operation and Banking (C&B) admissions are given on a pertaining basis. Admissions to PG courses are based on the merits obtained during the university entrance test.
