Starting in old school buildings with just 30 students, it grew over the years, introducing degree courses in Arts and Science, and eventually postgraduate programs in subjects like Botany, Zoology, Physics, and Bengali. Supported by local efforts and government grants, the college moved to a new building in 1962, added modern facilities, and became affiliated with West Bengal State University. Today, it offers advanced courses in 13 subjects, general courses, and online programs, while continuously working to improve teaching quality and academic excellence.
