Tamil Nadu Open University Distance Education Admission 2026-27: Tamil Nadu Open University is located in Tamil Nadu. This University is established by the government of Tamil Nadu in the year 2002. This is the open University that provides many courses in UG and PG programs. TNOU is the 1st open university of Tamil Nadu that offers Bachelor's degrees such as B.A., BBA, BCA, B.Com, and B.Sc. and 2-year Master’s programs like M.A., M.Com. MBA, MCA, and M.Sc. In addition, Vocational Certificates and Diploma courses are also being offered in various specializations. Selection is totally merit-based. The final selection is based on qualifying exams followed by counselling. Ineligible students will have to appear in TNOU BPP conducted by University for admission to UG courses. Usually, the university completes its admissions in July.

TNOU offers various UG & PG Courses such as BA, MA, BBA, BCA, MBA, MCA, B.Com, M.Com, etc. As of 2017, the university had 111 distance learning courses or institutions. While in the same year, it offered the students 113 programs at various levels, ranging from PG to certificates courses. The students must have a 10+2 passed certificate from a recognized board to take admission in any of the UG programs offered by the university. In contrast, for admission in PG programs offered by TNOU, students must have a bachelor's degree in a relevant field from a recognized university. Admission in all the courses is done based on merit scored in the entrance examination conducted by the university.
Students can apply for admission in TNOU online as well as offline. The application will be available on the official website of the TNOU. All eligible students who have all the preferred documents can apply for admission..

TNOU Admission Application Form 2026-27
TNOU provides the application forms at the university centre. students need to pay the application form fee in cash which is INR 100. The student needs to fill the application form carefully and fill up the total form otherwise University declares this incomplete. TNOU only provides the offline mode for registration. If the students take the Tamil Nadu Open University Admission 2026 in any courses Offered by TNOU then the student is required to visit the University centre.

Tamil Nadu Open University Distance Education Eligibility Criteria
- Admission to UG. the candidate should have passed in 12th with relevant discipline from any recognized university candidate eligible to apply the admission of UG offers course level programs.
- Admission to PG. the candidate should have passed in Bachelor degree with relevant discipline from any recognized university candidate eligible to apply the admission of PG offers course level programs.
- Admission to the Diploma. The candidate must have completed in 12th from any recognized university candidate eligible to apply the admission of Diploma offers course level programs.
- Application form applies through offline mode. The candidate can download the application form from the university's official website and fill the all required and correct information in an application form and enclose all required documents along with the application form.
