Tamil Nadu Open University: Tamil Nadu Open University to increase access to higher education and improving the quality of education offered through the open and distance learning modes by coordinating such provisions in the state, the Government of Tamil Nadu established the Tamil Nadu Open University in 2002 with the motto of extending education to ‘anyone, anytime, anywhere.

Main Features Of Tamil Nadu Open University

Tamil Nadu Open University was established in 2002 by the Tamil Nadu Government and it is a state-type university. University has language labs where the university gives learning Foreign Languages including Chinese, English, French and German language to the students.

TNOU has a central library for all departments. Students can issue any reference books, or textbooks for 15 days. If the students can not return the books within 15 days then the university takes the late charges.

Tamil Nadu Open University has a department that is known as the Student Welfare and Placement Cell. The responsibility of this department is to place every student in the reported company.

This department provides all the information about the students to the company and all the information the company to the students. University invites Indian companies as well as MNC companies.

Tamil Nadu Open University Scholarship 

Tamil Nadu Open University provides the scholarship to the SC/ST candidate who takes admission in regular mode as well as the distance learning mode. But university provides the scholarship to only those students whose parents have less than 1 lakh income.
