Central Institute of Fisheries Education offers only two courses in the fields of fisheries and agricultural education, namely MFFC and Ph.D. The university offers postgraduate (PG) and doctoral education. Candidates must have a Bachelor's degree in Fisheries Science (B.F.Sc.) with a system of at least 60% marks under 10 + 2 + 4.

In CIFE, PG-level courses such as MFSc are offered, and also Ph.D. studies are carried out in this institute. Apart from this, CIFE is also focused on carrying some training programs of short-term 3 to 7 days and long-term 6 to 12 months. This university is famous for its science stream. Students have to complete 12th standard the science subject and must score good marks.
