On December 12th, 1996, Sammilani Mahavidyalaya was founded on the initiative of a few academic entrepreneurs with the specific goal of educating young people in the area. The college was permitted to accept financial aid under Section 12(B) of the UGC Act of 1956 on June 5, 2003, by the UGC. The National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) granted the college accreditation (1st Cycle) in 2005 and assigned a grade of "B."

Also, it was evaluated by the West Bengal Department of Higher Education in January 2010 as part of the State Level Assessment Program (SLAP). The college was accredited in November 2016 as part of the second cycle of the NAAC peer review, with a grade of B++ and a CGPA of 2.82. The college is currently moving quickly in the direction of success. But, there are still numerous steps to do before our idea or vision becomes a reality.

Sammilani College admission 2024 is going to start on 18 April 2024 (tentative) for UG and PG courses for the session 2024-25. Sammilani Mahavidyalaya provides three-year BA/B.Sc/B.Com Honors programmes as well as seven specializations in the BA and B.Sc. degrees. The West Bengal Council of Higher Secondary Education's 10+2/HSC or its equivalent qualifying examination in any relevant field and any other recognized State/National Board are the minimal requirements for admission to these programs.

• The aggregate marks are determined for the BA-Honors programme by summing the results from the subject's top four subjects and dividing them by 5.
• For B.Sc-Honors (Zoology, Physics, Mathematics, Geography, Microbiology, and Computer Science),the total mark is determined by adding the scores from the top four topics and the two relevant subjects. The result is then divided by six.
• For B.Sc-Honors (Geography and Chemistry),the aggregate marks are computed by adding the scores from the top four classes plus the scores from the subject in question (Geography/Chemistry),then dividing the total by 5.
• The top four subjects' scores are added, and the results of accounting/mathematics divided by five are added to get the final grade for the B.Com-Honors course.

Applicants may submit an application for admission to the three-year BA/B.Sc./B.Com (General) programme. Every subject combination has a 25-student intake, with the exception of BA General, which has a 170-student intake, and B.Com General, which has a 60-student intake. Anybody who has earned a 10+2 grade level from the West Bengal Council of Higher Secondary Education or a State or National Board of Education equivalent in any pertinent topic is qualified to enrol in the programme.

Candidates are chosen depending on their performance in the qualifying exam. On its official website, the institution posts the merit list of the chosen applicants, and seats in the desired course are filled through the counselling procedure.

• The sum of the marks from the top four topics divided by four is used to determine the aggregate marks for B.Sc. General (Computer Science) and B.Sc. General (without Computer Science).
• Similar to this, the combined marks for the B.Sc. General (Bio-Science) programmes are determined by combining the scores from the top four Chemistry and Biology classes, then dividing the total by 6.
• While taking the B.Sc General with Geography combination, the overall grade is determined by combining the grades from the top four subjects and dividing them by five.
• The combined grades for the B.Com. General programmes are determined by combining the grades from the top four topics and dividing them by five.
• The combined score for the BA General with Geography is determined by adding the results from the top four subjects plus the marks for Geography, then dividing the result by 5.
• The sum of the scores from the top four topics, divided by four, is used to compute the overall grade for BA General without Geography.
