Tamil University Distance Education: Tamil University DDE is a distance university making learning accessible to students since 1981. Located in Thanjavur, Tamil Nadu, it is a state university that has received recognition from University Grants commission (UGC). It is accredited with grade “B+” by NAAC.

Tamil University Distance Education Admission 2026-27

TU has its headquarters in Thanjavur, Tamil Nadu, Southern India. Early in 1925 learned scholars in Tamil society motivated the idea of establishing a different Tamil language university. In 2005, a new era at Tamil University was set up by Tamil University Directorate of Distance Education (DDE). The Direction provides candidates with 29 degree and post-graduate courses. These courses are distributed throughout the fields of science, trade and arts. B.Ed., M.A., M.Com, M.Sc., Diploma and PG Diploma are among these classes. All these courses are admitted exclusively on the basis of qualification examinations.

Tamil University Admission Procedure 2026-27

The student can apply for the application form through Online/Offline Mode. This is an important step in the admission procedure.

• To process the application, students should indeed online at the official website. i.e. (https://www.tamiluniversity.ac.in)
• Now you can register on the admission portal for online admission.
• Fill the online form efficiently and accurately, upload necessary documents, photos, and certificates.
• Submit the fee of INR 1000 through a Credit/Debit card or Net banking in the bank account of the University.
• In the case of practical examination, some further amount of INR 500 will be paid.
• The minimum eligibility criteria for applying for online admission is 55%.
