There are 4 specialisations available under the Master of Science (M.Sc) programme, namely, Forestry, Wood Science and Technology, Environment Management, Cellulose and Paper Technology. FRI PhD Admission 2024-25

Forest Research Institute (FRI ICFRE),Dehradun offers 24 fields of specializations under the Doctoral level Programmes. Some of the subjects are silviculture, forest botany, soil science, wood science, hydrology, wildlife, conservation, and many others. Admission to these courses will rely on the entrance exam which is conducted by the FRI, Deemed University. Alternatively, those who have appeared for UGC/GATE/NET/CSIR need not sit for the written test. Keeping aside all this, firstly, aspirants must have completed a Master's degree with not less than 55% marks from the relevant field. However, for the reserved categories, it is 50% marks only.

Forest Research Institute Entrance Exam

Minimum admission standard with a total score of at least 55% in the relevant field. PG in Forest with at least a one-year PG Diploma in IT/Computer Science with a 55% status. The PG is based on merit admitted via FRI Dehradun. In the entrance examination for MSc and PhD, candidates must achieve good marks. The Forest Research Institute also provides reservations to SC/ST/PWD/OBC-NCL applicants.
