Compulsory Language for all the degree courses students for Sem-1 Communicative English or Bengali for those students who did not have Bengal in HS or equivalent courses is entitled to take Communicative English.

Serampore College Admission Eligibility Criteria 2024

The eligibility requirements follow the University of Calcutta's standards. A candidate who has passed the Higher Secondary (10+2) or its equivalent Examination is eligible to apply for admission to the first year of the 3-year BA/B.Sc/B.Com (Honors and General) and BA Course of Studies provided he or she has also passed in English with full marks not being less than 100.

Applicants who have completed the council's Upper Secondary (+2) Vocational Examination are entitled to apply for admission to the BA (General) First Year but only for the Humanities Division topics and the B.com (General) First Year Courses.

An applicant for an honours course in a subject must possess the following:

• 45% in the topic or a closely comparable subject at the prior qualifying test, as well as a minimum of 50% overall.
• However, to enrol in an honours programme, individuals from a Scheduled Caste or Scheduled Tribe Community must have received at least 40% overall or 40% in the topic or subjects that were closely linked in their prior qualifying test, depending on the situation.

Physically Difficult Applicants who qualify for reservations must have a disability of at least 40%. Candidates who are physically disabled must provide a certificate from the appropriate authority with their admission application. Candidates who are physically handicapped are given a reservation for 3% of the available seats.

REMEMBER that 30% of the seats are reserved for Christian students.

Serampore College Scholarships

The Research/SATHRI Scholarship, which is available as a monthly scholarship, full scholarship, bursary, or one-time scholarship for D.Th studies, is available to permanent members of the teaching staff of colleges that are affiliated with the Senate as well as colleges that are not affiliated, as well as to candidates who are supported by colleges, churches, or other institutions and who wish to work in theological institutions for an extended period.

Before the scholarship is released to their candidates, the Institution sponsoring a candidate for the Research/SATHRI scholarship is required to pay Rs 12,000 (Rs 4000 per year) towards the scholarship fund of the Research Department/SATHRI. Failure to do so will result in the scholarship being withdrawn.
