The resurgence of Muslims in Kerala is symbolized by Farook College, an important monument. The institution was established in 1948 to educate and empower people who had been rendered helpless by repressive colonial customs and outdated indigenous beliefs. By establishing a secular and contemporary educational paradigm dedicated to helping the socially and economically disadvantaged segments of society, the Rouzathul Uloom Association, the campus's parent organization, took the initiative in altering the social fabric of the area.

At the time of its founding, Farook College was the sole First Grade College in Central Malabar and had a Madras University affiliation. In 1957 and 1968, respectively, the institution is incorporated into the University of Kerala and the University of Calicut following the states' restructuring. The college has a career guidance centre that is operational. For students of all levels, the Center provides career and academic assistance services.
