Kannammal Educational Trust was constituted in 1985 and started at Thai Moogambigai Polytechnic College. The main mission or aim of M.G.R. Educational and Research Institute is to train the students as Job creators and not like simply Job seekers.

DR. M.G.R. Educational and Research Institute want to provide education, which is full of Research skills and creation center in various fields of Humanities and Sciences, Engineering and Technology, Medicine & Dental Sciences, to inculcate Technologically. Within three years of its inception, Dr. M.G.R. Engineering College was founded in 1988 and the Thai Moogambigai Dental College was started in the year 1991.
