One of the 16 first universities in India is the University of Kerala. In 1937, Kerala University was founded. Travancore University was the original name of the university. Two law schools, nine MBA/MCA schools, 37 teacher training schools, ten nursing schools, four medical schools, four ayurvedic schools, two homeopathic schools, one Siddha medical college, three dental colleges, and two fine arts schools exist in the city. One music college, four pharmacy colleges, and four music colleges. About 84,000 people attend this university.
