Periyar Manaimmai Institute of Science & Technology is a deemed university in South India for accreditation by NAAC. Earlier the university is known as “Periyar Maniammai College of Technology for Women”. PMIST university is offering different kinds of courses postgraduate, undergraduate and the level of research. Different kind of courses is offered in the field of Commerce, Science, Arts, and Engineering.

The majority of courses, the admission is accepting on the basis of merit of marks which are stored in a different kind of university and national examination level. There is a different kind of courses, providing admission on a direct basis having marks which are secured by the examination for qualifying.

Hostel: PMISTuniversity has provided a separate residential facility for male and female. it has offered four hostel- three of Annai Nagammaiyar, Vittoria and Swarna Renganathan hostel for women and there in the hostel has accommodated around 2000 women students and the Chakravarthi hostel for men there students can stay approx 600 students. the hostels are located within the campus is a clean and calm environment, conducive for living and learning. apart from that, it has given all the modern and major facilities.

Library: PMIST University campus has one of the biggest central libraries it is located within the campus. it spreads over to three floors with an area of 25, 902 m2. it has collected all major books such as Journals and Non-book materials are available I basic Sciences, Engineering and Technology, Biotechnology, Humanities, Social Sciences, and Education. and apart from that in the library has an open-access system to enable the students to the library to choose books of there choice and read. It has collection of the 78693 Volumes with Book bank, the digital library has collection approx 1480CDs, 578 Video Cassettes, and 225 Audio Cassettes.

Medical: PMIST university has provided the hospital within the campus of this university. the name of the hospital has Periyar Maniammai Hospital. in hospitals has all the major facility enabled such as 24 hours ambulatory services, Mini Operation Theatre as well as Eighteen bedded hospitals apart from that Highlight facility is there such as Mobile Clinic, Blood donation camps, Periodical Free medical campus, Awareness programs- Cancer, Diabetes and Cardiac complaints as well as Siddha medical treatment.

Specialized training of the IELTS, GRE, GATE and TOFEL examinations which are given for higher studies in India as well as abroad. Advance training is provided for cracking the examinations of government such as Railways, IBPS, Group 4 and Group 2, etc.
