Surendranath Evening College Admission: Surendranath College was founded by Sir Surendranath Banerjee, a great leader in India’s freedom movement. He was a wise and brave person who believed that education was the key to fighting against British rule. In 1882, he took charge of Presidency School, which soon became Ripon College, and later developed into Surendranath College in 1949, after India got independence. Over the years, the college grew and added many subjects like Commerce, Science, and Arts. New courses such as Computer Science, Electronics, and Marketing were added to help students learn modern skills. In fact, this college was the first in Eastern India to offer Electronic Equipment Maintenance. The college is connected to the University of Calcutta and offers honours courses in subjects like English, Hindi, Urdu, Bengali, Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics. Surendranath College has become a respected evening college where many students build their future.
