SVPDC, Bengaluru, Admission: The Hyderabad Karnataka region was once poor in education and development. In 1958, the HKE Society was formed to improve education, with support from farmers and businessmen. They started an Engineering College, whose foundation was laid by Dr. S. Radhakrishnan. A hostel and a Law College were opened in 1960, and a Medical College in 1963. Many students from these colleges became successful, like Justice Shivaraj Patil and Chief Minister Y. S. Rajashekhara Reddy.
