Muthukumaran College of Education, Admission: Sri Muthukumaran Institute of Technology (SMIT) is a self-financed engineering college located on Kundrathur Main Road, about 15 km from Chennai. It was started in 1996 and is approved by AICTE and affiliated to Anna University. The college is recognized by UGC under 2(f) and 12(B) schemes, and has taken part in NIRF and AISHE. In 2024, SMIT received an 'A Grade' accreditation from NAAC and is completing 30 years of providing quality education in engineering and management.
