Nalanda Dance Research Centre Admission: Nalanda Nritya Kala Mahavidyalaya, founded in 1973 by renowned dancer Dr. Kanak Rele, is a Mumbai-based college dedicated to Indian classical dance education. Led today by Dr. Uma Rele, it’s linked to the University of Mumbai and has special independence to design its own courses. For 49 years, it has blended the ancient teacher-student tradition with modern university learning, offering degrees from Bachelor’s to Ph.D. in dance. The college focuses on discipline, personal guidance, and helping students grow into skilled, confident individuals. It’s the only college under Mumbai University to offer such specialized dance programs.
