NIKC Bangalore Admission: The Natya Institute of Kathak and Choreography (NIKC) was founded in 1964 by Padma Vibhushan Smt Kamaladevi Chattopadhyay and Dr. Maya Rao to preserve and teach Indian classical dance, especially Kathak. In 1987, it moved to Bangalore with support from the Karnataka government and former Chief Minister Shri Ramakrishna Hegde. Since then, NIKC has trained thousands of students in dance, choreography, and performance, helping them connect deeply with India’s cultural heritage while sharing it with the world.
