J K S Inter College of Commerce Admission: In the 1970s, Jamshedpur’s higher education system began to grow, and people realized that students from poor areas, especially in the western part of the city, had few chances to study further. To address this, J.K.S. College was established in 1979 by Jain Kalyan Samiti, a local group, to provide quality education to tribal groups, minorities, and weaker sections of society, including Muslim communities. The college was set up in a slum area to help students, particularly girls, access education easily. Dr. B. Prasad, along with other dedicated educators like Dr. K. Ganesh and Dr. A.P. Singh, played a key role in its founding. Over time, the college expanded its courses and gained recognition from Ranchi University for Commerce in 2007 and Kolhan University for Arts in 2012.

Today, J.K.S. College continues to focus on providing value-based education in Arts and Commerce streams under Kolhan University. It has consistently achieved high academic standards while also fulfilling its mission of uplifting disadvantaged communities through education. The college has become an important institution for students from nearby villages and slum areas, offering them opportunities to build a better future. Its efforts have made it a symbol of hope and progress for the region.
