History of YMCA University of Science and Technology, Faridabad or JC Bose University
The JC Bose University/ YMCA University of Science and Technology, Faridabad erstwhile YMCA Institute Of Engineering, Faridabad was established in the year 1969, as a joint venture of the National Council Of YMCAs of India, Govt of Haryana, and the Central Agencies for Development Aid, Bonn, Germany.
It started as an Indo-German project with an aim to impart technical education to a developing India on a German pattern. The labs & workshops have been set up with the assistance of German expertise. In 1996, the State Govt. of Haryana took complete control of the Institute and upgraded it to university status in Dec. 2009. JC Bose University Approvals:
- JC Bose University / YMCA University of Science and Technology came into existence on 1st Dec. 2009 according to Haryana Act No. 21 of 2009 as per notification dated 16th September 2009. The University thus celebrates its Foundation Day on 16th September.
- The Haryana State Govt. University is approved under 2f and 12(B) of the UGC act. (Approval of University under 12(B) by UGC)
