Himachal Pradesh University located in Shimla and was established in the year 1970. HPU University provides the various Undergraduate, Postgraduate and Doctoral Level Courses in the various fields. Admission to MBBS and BDS is done on the basis of NEET UG score. Admission to B.Tech Regulars and B.Tech (Lateral) is done on the basis of score in the Entrance Test which is conducted by the HPU and merit respectively. Candidates applying for the Master’s degree are required to have a Bachelor’s degree in the respective subject with a minimum of 50% marks. (45% marks for certain courses). HPU Admission to the MBA program is done on the basis of performance in HPUMAT followed by personal Interview and group discussion round. Selecting to P.hd and M.Phil Program is done on the basis of performance in an entrance test which is conducted by HPU subject to availability of the courses. HPU Scholarship

Thakur Sen Negi Utkrisht Chhatervritti Yojna: HPU scholarship is provided to 100 girls and 100 boys candidates of the ST category. Those candidates have score 72% and above marks in the 10th class which is conducted by the H.P. Board of Schools Education, Dharamshala. The Scholarship is given in 10+2 class also to the 100 boys and 100 girls candidate of ST category on merit basis as well as who got 72% and above marks in 10+2 class. The Value of Scholarship is given Rs.11,000/per-years.

Dr.Ambedkar Medhavi Chattervriti Yojana

Himachal Pradesh University provides scholarship for top 1000 meritorious candidate who belongs to SC category and as well as top 1000 meritorious students of OBC declared as such in the results of Matric Examination which is conducted by the H.P.Board of Schools Education, Dharamshala, strictly on merit basis of candidate studying in a recognized institution within outside the state. The renewal in 10+2 Class / 2nd Year, of course, will be subject to satisfactory performance in internal examinations of the 10+1 Class / 1st Year Course. The scholarship is given  Rs 10,000/- p.a.
