Vivekananda Mahavidyalaya Admission: In 1963, during the 100th birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda, some important people from Burdwan—like the District Magistrate Mr. K.P.S. Menon and Zila Parishad Chairman Mr. Narayan Chowdhury decided to start a new college in the town.The Burdwan Municipality gave a big piece of land in Sarshe Danga Mouza, near Sadarghat for this new college. On 8th March 1964, Mr. Prafulla Chandra Sen, who was the Chief Minister of West Bengal at that time, laid the foundation stone of the college.

Later, a committee was formed to take care of the college. Mr. K.P.S. Menon became the President, Dr. Sailendranath Mukhopadhyaya, a well-known doctor, was made the Vice President, and Mr. Prafulla Kumar Pal, the Chief Engineer of Burdwan Zila Parishad, became the Secretary of the committee.

• Eight passport size photographs.
• Income Certificate for Scholarship made by Tehsildar only.
• Student Domicile Certificate for Scholarship.
