Vijaya College, Bangalore Admission: In the early 1940s, there were only two colleges in Bangalore — Government Intermediate College and St. Joseph’s College — offering science education, but getting admitted was very difficult. To help more students get a good education, a group of visionaries formed the BHS Managing Committee in 1944 and started the “Bangalore Intermediate College” at Vokkaligara Sangha Campus with 120 students. The college was renamed Vijaya College in 1946, moved to a bigger campus in 1953, and began offering degree courses like B.Sc. and B.Com in the following years. Over time, new courses were added to meet students’ needs, and today, under the leadership of Sri N.B. Bhat, Vijaya College continues to grow and improve as a leading educational institution in Karnataka.
