TNMC Maharashtra Admission: The National Medical College in Bombay was started in 1921 by Indian leaders using local funds during the freedom movement, as a response to British control over existing medical education. It aimed to train Indian doctors to serve both in hospitals and communities, and included Ayurveda in its curriculum. The college was linked with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Bombay and offered the LMP course, since British-run universities did not support it.
