Sir L. A. Shah Law College Admission: The Gujarat Law Society (GLS) was established in 1927 to provide quality education in law by opening colleges in Gujarat and Kathiawar. On June 20, 1927, Sir L.A. Shah Law College was started in Ahmedabad as the fourth law college affiliated with the University of Bombay. In 1935, it began offering postgraduate courses for the LL.M. degree, and in 1937, a large building was constructed for the college at Ellisbridge. It received permanent affiliation with the University of Bombay in 1947 and then with Gujarat University in 1950. For 29 years, it was the only GLS institution. Later, GLS expanded by opening many more colleges like H.A. College of Commerce (1956),I.M. Nanavati Law College (1958),and more. Today, GLS has grown to 38 institutions, educating over 38,000 students in different fields.
