Sir J. J. College Admission: The Sir JJ School of Art was started in 1857 by Sir Jamshetjee Jeejeebhoy and later became the Sir JJ College of Architecture in 1952 under the University of Mumbai. Architecture became a separate department in 1913, and famous professors like Robert Cable, Claude Batley, and others helped make it one of the best in India. The college has produced well-known architects like Padmashri Achyut Kanvinde and Padmashri Balkrishna Doshi. In 2013, it was ranked the best architecture college in India by the Outlook-MDRA Poll and has been among the top three for many years, with strong support from the University of Mumbai.
