Sivananda Yoga Vedanta, Admission: The International Sivananda Yoga Vedanta Centres are peaceful places where people learn yoga and meditation based on the teachings of Swami Sivananda and his student Swami Vishnudevananda. Their goal is to spread peace, health, and happiness through yoga. In 1959, the first center was opened in Montreal, Canada, and now there are about 35 centers around the world. Over 50,000 teachers have been trained to share yoga with others. The centers also teach about yoga philosophy, meditation, and Ayurveda, an ancient system of healing. They are run by volunteers who help out through a program called Karma Yoga.
