Saveetha Group of College Admission: The Saveetha Medical and Educational Trust was started in 1986. Its main goals were to help people with medical care, improve education, and support research. In 1988, the Trust opened Saveetha Dental College along with a general hospital. Later, it also started a Nursing College, Physiotherapy College, Occupational Therapy College, and an Engineering College. These colleges were created to help people, especially those living in villages around Chennai and nearby areas in Tamil Nadu. To meet the rules of the University Grants Commission (UGC) and become a "Deemed to be University," the Trust set up a new group called Saveetha Institute of Medical & Technical Sciences (SIMATS) in 2001. In 2005, SIMATS was officially given the status of "Deemed to be University" by the Government of India. Now, it is known as Saveetha Institute of Medical and Technical Sciences (SIMATS).
