SACASC Mumbai Admission: In June 1981, Msgr. Nereus Rodrigues became the Parish Priest of St. Andrew's Church and was given the task of starting a new college. On July 10, 1981, a group called the St. Andrew’s Society for Education and Research was formed by Cardinal Simon Pimenta, Msgr. Nereus Rodrigues, Fr. Rodney Esperance, and Mr. Res Pinto to begin the process. They applied to the University of Bombay for approval. After two years, on June 24, 1983, they received permission from the Government of Maharashtra and the university. Finally, on July 9, 1983, Cardinal Simon Pimenta officially opened the college at the site of St. Andrew’s Junior College.
