RSAC LUCKNOW Admission: Uttar Pradesh was the first state in India to set up the Remote Sensing Applications Centre (RSAC-UP) in 1982 in Lucknow. This center uses satellite images, GPS, and advanced computer programs to study and manage natural resources like water, soil, and forests for sustainable development. Over time, it has expanded its work to include city planning, disaster management, mapping infrastructure, and training people in these technologies. RSAC-UP also runs a Master’s program in Remote Sensing and GIS, creates detailed maps for schools, and works on projects like crop management, river rejuvenation, and finding sites for rainwater harvesting.
