Quaid-E-Millath College, Admission: Quaid-E-Millath Government College for Women began as a school called Madrasa, started by the last Nawab of Carnatic, Ghulam Ghouse Khan Bahadur, in the 1700s. In 1901, the government bought Umdah Bagh, the current location, and made the Madrasa into a college named Mohameddan Arts College. The main building, still standing today, was opened on November 29, 1934, by Lord Erskine, the Governor of Madras at that time.
