PGDAV College, Jharkhand, Admission: After Swami Dayanand Saraswati died in 1883, his followers started the DAV movement to continue his work. They wanted to spread education, remove ignorance, and fight social and religious problems. The first DAV School opened in Lahore in 1886 with Lala Hans Raj as headmaster. It later became a college in 1888 with him as the first principal. Many leaders helped the movement grow by combining old traditions with new ideas. Today, the DAV movement has 780 schools and colleges in India and other countries.
