NIFT Kolkata Admission: NIFT Kolkata, started in 1995, is a leading fashion school in eastern India that teaches design, technology, and business skills. It is one of the five oldest NIFT campuses and works closely with the government and clothing industries to train students. Initially, it operated from temporary buildings before moving to a permanent location. It began with two courses: a 3-year Fashion Design diploma and a 2-year Garment Manufacturing diploma. Later, it added a 2-year Leather Apparel Design & Technology course to help students specialize in leather fashion.
