Madras Institute of Technology Admission: After India gained independence, a need for strong technological education was felt to help industries grow. To fulfill this, Mr. C. Rajam donated Rs. 5 lakhs by selling his house and founded the Madras Institute of Technology (MIT) in July 1949. With the blessings of the Jagadguru Sankaracharya Swamigal and support from other dedicated individuals and donations from the public, MIT was established as an All India Technological Institution to provide quality technical education and contribute to the country’s progress.
