The establishment of Maharaja Manindra Chandra College at 20, Ramkanto Bose Street, Kolkata-700003, on July 15, 1941, huge anticipation of the residents residing North of Beadon Street realized. The effort and drive of Dr Panchanan Neogi I.E.S (Retd. ),a well-known educationist at the time, as well as the kindness of Maharaja Sris Chandra Nandi of Cossimbazar made it feasible.

Maharaja Manindra College Admission 2024

Maharaja Manindra Chandra College Admission 2024-25 for UG and PG courses starts on 17 April 2024 (tentative). The college offers 3 - undergraduate programs, the BA, B.Sc, and the B.Com, in subjects like Bengali, English, history,  political science, journalism and mass communication, philosophy, Hindi, chemistry, mathematics, computer science, biology, economics, finance and accounting, and so on.

Maharaja Manindra College Admission Process

  • A candidate may apply for admission to undergraduate programs if they passed the Higher Secondary or its equivalent Examination (10+2 level) in 2017 or later.
  • To apply for BA, B.Sc, or B.Com (Honors) Courses, a candidate must have passed in English on the preceding qualifying examination with a complete score of not less than 100.
  • The sum of the scores for the BEST FOUR subjects will be used to compute the overall grade (of at least 100 marks on paper). Marks earned in required environmental education or studies will not be used in the computation of the overall grade point average.
  • Admission will be made completely based on merit. According to the appropriate INDEX MARK (as established by the specific department),subject-specific merit lists will be created for all student categories.
  • Only West Bengal residents who have their original certificates and are SC/ST/OBC-A/OBC-B are eligible for reservation benefits.
  • Provisional admission to any programme offered by the college is contingent on final University of Calcutta clearance.
  • On the college website (http://mmccollege.co.in),merit lists for all disciplines, the admission schedule, and all admission notices will be published. There won't be any special communications with each applicant regarding acceptance.

Candidates must have obtained at least a 45-50% overall grade in their 10 + 2 exam and a 45% grade in the topic from the relevant field of study from a recognized university or board.

Finance and Accounting

Eligibility Criteria for BA/B.Sc Honors

  • A minimum of 45% in the topic or a closely comparable subject in the pre-qualifying exams, and a minimum of 50% in the best four subjects overall (excluding environmental education or studies, which are required).
  • If all other conditions are satisfied, a candidate may receive 50% of the total possible points even if they did not study the topic in their prior qualifying examination.
  • 55% on the topic or a closely comparable subject in the previous qualifying exam.

Eligibility Criteria for B.Com Honors

  • A candidate must have received a minimum of 50% overall and 45% in the subject or a closely comparable subject in the prior qualifying exam before enrolling in the B.Com Honors Course in that subject.
  • 55% on the subject or a closely comparable subject on the prior qualifying exam.

However, applicants from the Scheduled Caste or Scheduled Tribe Community enrolling in the Honors Program must have received at least 40% overall or 40% in the subject or a closely comparable topic in the prior qualifying examination, depending on the circumstance.

  • Applications for UG Admissions in 2024-25 can only be submitted online at mmccollege.co.in. There is no printed application form accessible.
  • The registration information, including Name, Date of Birth, 10+2 Board, 10+2 Roll Number, and Caste Category, cannot normally be amended, updated, or edited once it has been entered and submitted.
  • Additionally, the information must perfectly match the school transcripts, caste/category records, certificates, picture ID cards, and other documents a candidate must present to the university while registering online.
  • Please avoid submitting duplicate applications.
  • According to the guidelines in the Guideline for Online Application, provide a scanned copy of your photo (50 kb maximum) and your signature (50 kb maximum).

During any stage of the admissions process, candidates are not obliged to physically be present. Only when the term has begun will physical attendance be necessary, as announced by the college in accordance with West Bengal government regulations.
