Department of Business Administration Admission: The University of Lucknow was first proposed by Raja Sir Mohammad Ali Mohammad Khan, and later supported by Sir Harcourt Butler, who helped bring the idea to life. After several meetings and discussions in 1919 and 1920, a plan was finalized to create a unitary, teaching, and residential university with faculties like Arts, Science, Medicine, and Law. The bill to establish the university was passed in 1920, and it officially began operations in 1921. Teaching started at Canning College and King George’s Medical College, which were later handed over to the university. The new institution was built on the strong foundation of these colleges, along with generous donations from local rulers and government support, ensuring its growth and success.
