JDBIMS Mumbai Admission: The SNDT Women’s University is the first university in India and South-East Asia made just for women. It was started in 1916 by Bharat Ratna Maharshi Dr. Dhondo Keshav Karve, who wanted to help women get an education. He had strong support from Sir Vithaldas Thackersey, a famous businessman and kind-hearted person who cared about helping others. The university's main office is in Churchgate, Mumbai, and it has two more campuses in Juhu, Mumbai, and on Karve Road in Pune.

In 1921, the first five women graduated from this university. For over 100 years, the university has worked hard to grow and reach more people. It works with colleges in 8 states and one Union Territory across India. In 2000, the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) gave the university a five-star rating, which shows how good it is. The SNDT Women’s University is dedicated to empowering women through education and always aims for excellence, as seen in its goals and mission.
