Government Medical College, Admission: Government Medical College, Kozhikode (also known as Calicut Medical College),is a leading medical institution in Kerala, established in 1957 as the second medical college in the state. Located about 8 km from Kozhikode city, the campus spreads across 270 acres. It was initially affiliated with the University of Calicut and is now under Kerala University for Health Sciences (KUHS). The college was inaugurated by Dr. A.R. Menon and organized under the leadership of its first principal, Dr. K.N. Pisharoty. Today, it serves around 40% of Kerala’s population and is recognized for its excellence in medical education and healthcare.
