(DKBC) Dr. Kanailal Bhattacharya College Admission: For a long time, the people of Santragachi had dreamed of having a degree college in their area. Slowly, this dream became a strong demand. Around this time, something important happened. Late Sudhir Kumar Ghosh decided to donate his land and building located at Dharmatala in Ramrajatala for the college. With the efforts of the local MLA at that time, Sri Satyen Ghosh, and some respected people from the area, a trust was formed to help set up the college. This happened on 26th November 1984. 

On 10th March 1985, a public meeting was held. It was led by Late Raghudas Baul and attended by Late Sudhir Kumar Ghosh. In this meeting, the college was named after a famous educationist, respected public leader, and former minister of Industry and Commerce in the West Bengal government, Late Professor Dr. Kanailal Bhattacharyya. Later, on 22nd October 1994, the college was officially recognized as a ‘Govt.-aided College’ under UGC rules. Currently, the college is getting ready for its 4th cycle of NAAC Re-Accreditation, which is an important evaluation process for colleges
