CIPET IPT - Bhubaneswar Admission: The Central Institute of Petrochemicals Engineering & Technology (CIPET),originally called the Central Institute of Plastics Engineering & Technology (CIPET),was started in 1968 in Chennai by the Government of India. It was set up with help from the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP). The main goal of this special institute was to train people in different areas of plastics engineering and technology because there were no similar schools in the country at that time. The International Labour Organization (ILO) helped run the project. Today, CIPET is a leading educational institution under the Ministry of Chemicals & Fertilizers, Government of India. It focuses on higher education and technical training in all areas related to plastics, such as design, computer-aided tools (CAD/CAM/CAE),making molds and tools, production, testing, and quality checks. CIPET has many centers across India to support the needs of industries working with plastics and similar materials.
