C. Kandaswami Naidu College Admission: Kandaswami Naidu moved to Madras with his family in 1894 due to poverty and started working at a young age to support them. He learned bricklaying and masonry, worked hard, and eventually became a successful builder and contractor. Through honesty and effort, he earned wealth and respect, owning many properties. Before his death in 1948, he donated much of his wealth to Pachaiyappa’s Charities. In 1967, two colleges—one for men in Chennai and one for women in Cuddalore—were started in his memory using his donations.
