Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan Admission: Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan is a charitable trust started by Dr. K. M. Munshi on November 7, 1938, to promote education, art, and culture. The first President of India, Dr. Rajendra Prasad, laid the foundation stone of its Delhi center in 1957 and also inaugurated it. What began as a small idea has now grown into a large organization with 114 centers in India and 7 centers in other countries. In 2002, Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan received the Gandhi Peace Prize for its important work in education and promoting peace among different communities. The Bhavan connects science and spirituality and believes in the idea that "the world is one family." Its motto means, "Let noble thoughts come to us from all sides." One of its main goals is to study Indian history, languages, culture, religion, and philosophy. The Delhi center started a special place called the Centre of Indology to research and teach about Indian knowledge and culture, honoring the vision of its founder, Dr. K. M. Munshi.
