Baldwin Women's Methodist College Admission: Mr. John Baldwin, who taught himself by working as a janitor and chopping wood, made it his life goal to promote education. In 1845, he started the Baldwin Institute in New York, and later founded the Baldwin High School in 1982. The Baldwin School for girls was set up in 1903 and still provides excellent education to girls in Bangalore. By 1990, there was a growing need for quality education for women after school, so the PUC section was introduced. This was further expanded in 1995 with the addition of a degree program.

The Baldwin Women’s Methodist College is managed by the Methodist Church in India. The Bishop of the South India Regional Conference serves as the Chairman of the Board of Governors.
